GIA NETWORK EVENTS
MARCH 2023 - LIVIO BENEDETTI AND ACLI
GIA Network showed support for the Italian community by participating in ACLI's event to commemorate Livio Benedetti, an Italian and association pillar. During the event, GIA Network members networked with Italian representatives of ACLI, aiming to preserve the Italian cultural heritage abroad.
MARCH 2023 - FATHER ATANASIO CHARITY LUNCH
The GIA Network collaborated with the 'Father Atanasio Charitable Fund' for the annual charity lunch celebrating the 100th anniversary of Father Atanasio Gonelli's birth. More than 600 people were involved and many more donated money to support aid for the needy.
MAY 2023 - ITALIAN NATIONAL BALL
Fantastic event organized by Co.As.It. "The Italian National Ball". An event that brought together the Italian community in Australia. This year the funds raised will go towards enhancing Italian language courses and counselling services. As a youth organization, we are proud to support this initiative.
MARCH 2023 - SICILIA BEDDA AT CLUB MARCONI
The Sicilia Bella lunch at Club Marconi was an important gathering for the Sicilian community in Australia, dedicated to celebrating Sicilian traditions and culture. It was a special occasion to bring the local community together and preserve cultural roots through food, music, and dance.
FEBBRAIO 2023 – EVENTO "SISTEMA ITALIA"
Our Aperitivo/Networking Event was a unique opportunity to introduce the GIA NETWORK to the "Sistema Italia" and explore how our organization and network can support and strengthen the work of Italian institutions and associations for the benefit of the Italian-Australian community.
JUNE 2022 - LUCCA COMICS AT LEICHHARDT
Gia Network and the Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney-IICS presented an extraordinary exhibition at the Leichhardt Town Hall to celebrate the talent of young Italian artists and the importance of national events such as Lucca Comics. The exhibition showcased Italian artistic marvels, promoting national pride in Italy's cultural relations.
FEBRUARY 2020 - COVID EMERGENCY FUNDRAISER
Thanks to the Father Atanasio Charitable Foundation and the Italian Media Corporation, we raised over $140,000 to help temporary visa holders in financial need. During the 2021 lockdown, we provided $30,000 in financial assistance to young people in need.
MAY 2022 - MOTHER'S DAY - ASS. PUGLIA
Thanks to the Associazione Puglia NSW for the special event in honour of Mother's Day. It was a great day with our mothers and our community. We are proud to be part of a united and vibrant community.
ACTIVITIES GIA NETWORK
MAY 2021 - CANADA BAY WALK
GIA Network celebrated the inauguration of its new board of directors with a group walk to bring together second and third-generation Italian emigrants and Italians eager to rediscover their roots. The event promoted socializing and the exchange of ideas for the association's future, concluding with a barbecue at Navarra Venue.
NOVEMBER 2022 - NETWORKING APERITIF
GIA Network took the opportunity to bring the community together again, in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, by organizing an aperitivo in the heart of the city promoting networking between Italians and Italo-Australians by offering drinks and snacks, and special guests amidst convivial chatter.
OCTOBER 2022 - SPRING COCKTAIL PARTY
The Spring Cocktail Party at Glebe was an event organized to thank the donors of the Father Atanasio Charitable Fund. The event was an opportunity to express gratitude for the support received and to promote solidarity in the community.
FEBRUARY 2023 - GOURMET EVENT AT LOCANTRO
Alessandro Frassica, chef of INO Florence, met with young bakers Pino and Adriano Locantro in Leichhardt. The meeting, organized by GIA Network, explored the Italian food scene in Sydney. Alessandro appreciated the Locantros' passion and authenticity in carrying on the Italian tradition in their bakery.
